Responsible raw material extraction for car manufacturing – procurement strategies at the Volkswagen Group
As one of the largest automotive companies in the world, Volkswagen has a significant raw material footprint. With this comes a responsibility for the environmental and social impacts along the supply chain. The presentation of Franziska Killiches outlines the activities of the group’s procurement unit around sustainability issues in mineral resources supply chains, including when it comes to e-mobility strategies. Social aspects and environmental impacts around lithium or cobalt mining are a focus of this talk.
