ISTP Paper Series on Formula E
A new report by the Swiss Mobility Lab on Formula E can be found online. It includes the results of a representative survey of 1'209 adult persons from the canton of Zurich and the surrounding cantons conducted in the period 15th - 31st May 2018.
- Around 50% of the respondents have already heard about the Formula E race in Zurich and know that it takes place.
- Slightly more than half of the respondents support the race. About a third is against it. The approval for the race in the coming year (2019) is slightly lower at 47%.
- Respondents estimate the risks of an electric-powered car race similar to those of Formula 1 races by a small majority (56%). Only just under 30% consider the exception to the round-trip racing ban to be unjustified.
- Around 6.5% of respondents say they want to attend the race. Extrapolated to the population of the surveyed cantons, this could mean that around 175,000 people from these cantons would attend the race.
