Energy Now! 2.0 Kick-off Event: Join Us in Shaping the Future of Sustainable Swiss Energy
The ISTP, in collaboration with The Energy Science Center (ESC), is thrilled to announce the return of "Energy Now!" – an initiative focused on addressing the most pressing challenges in building a sustainable Swiss energy system. The event's kick-off, "Energy Now! 2.0," is scheduled for October 2nd, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dozentenfoyer (HG K 30.5) at ETH Zurich. Make sure to secure your spot now!
Energy Now! 2.0 is a platform aimed at fostering collaboration between industry partners and students to tackle real-world issues at the intersection of policy, economics, science, technology, and society. This year's challenges revolve around enhancing the flexibility of the electricity grid and optimizing energy and heat utilization in the transportation system. Together with our industry partners, including Swissgrid, BKW, VBZ, Siemens, and others, we have shaped these challenges that participants will learn about and tackle together:
- Visualizing Flexibility for Different Stakeholders
- Heat-on-Demand for Trams
- Public Transport – Energy Tool
- The Billing Problem of Bidirectional Charging in E-Mobility
- Unified EV Charging: Bridging Diverse Charging Stations and Apps
How to Participate
Start with signing up via the registration form and attend the Kick-Off event on Monday, October 2nd. Registration is now open and closes on Thursday, October 5th. At the Kick-Off event, you will meet our industry partners, discuss their proposed challenges in depth, and meet potential teammates.
Participation in Energy Now! 2.0 is open to a diverse range of individuals, including ETH Zurich students (BSc, MSc, and others), junior and senior researchers, staff members, and professors eager to make a tangible difference. At least one team member must have an affiliation with ETH Zurich, and interdisciplinary teams are encouraged. The goal is to create innovative, feasible, and effective solutions in a short time frame.
