Celebrating Two Successful Doctoral Defenses
Congratulations to both Erwin Lefoll and Leopold Peiseler on successfully defending their PhD theses!
Erwin Lefoll successfully defended his PhD thesis titles "Responsible Value Chains: Exploring the Role of Corporate Social Responsibility and Sourcing Certification in the Cocoa and Mining Sectors" in November 2024. As part of ISTP's SWISSCHAINS project, Erwin doctoral studies covered crucial areas such as corporate social responsibility and sourcing certification, addressing the challenges of socio-economic sustainability in global supply chains.
Leopold Peiseler successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled “Decarbonizing lithium-ion batteries: environmental, economic and policy insights” on 3rd February 2025. He also contributed to the Sustainable Supply Chains project SWISSCHAINS during his doctoral studies, which focused around policies along the supply chain of lithium-ion batteries to minimise their environmental impact.
