ISTP Doctoral Candidate Florian Lichtin successfully defended his PhD thesis

Florian Lichtin successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled “Societal Challenges for Effective and Feasible Climate Policy: Understanding Behavioural Dynamics and Mass Public Policy Preferences” on 26th March 2025. His thesis supervisors were Prof. Thomas Bernauer, Prof. Eva Heinen (ETH Zurich), and Prof. Isabelle Stadelmann-Steffen (University of Bern). Florian also contributed to the Swiss Mobility Panel project during his doctoral studies, which focused around environmental politics and how inequalities affect the public’s acceptance of climate change mitigation policies and how different ways of compensation can increase support for them.
