Social inclusion as the corner stone of outbreak prevention – from individual experience to international policy

Enlarged view: Colloquium: Christine Kelly

Humans have co-evolved with infections throughout history. Outbreaks are an inevitable consequence of human existence. Policies to prevent and limit the spread of infectious diseases are often produced under significant time and resource constraints. So how can we best formulate such policies to limit human disease and death in outbreak scenarios? This talk will provide examples of policy decisions over time that demonstrate the critical role of social inclusion for pandemic preparedness.
